Candied Almonds for Autumn

candied almonds recipe

So, there is no more denying it in Berlin, Autumn has arrived and I’m trying to enjoy it. It isn’t hard, because I have been munching on these delicious candied almonds which are sinfully easy to make. I won’t even be including a recipe! This is going to be a very short post… just to get those Autumn taste buds tingling.

All you need is:
2 cups of plain almonds – you can even use slightly salted one if you like the mix of salt and sweet

1/2 cup of water

1 cup of white sugar

2 tbsp cinnamon.

Place the water, sugar and cinnamon in a pan and bring to the boil. Then add the almonds and stir in, turn down slightly and cook until the liquid turns to syrup and then crystallizes. Stir the almonds to make sure they down all stick together when crystallizing. Pour out onto grease proof paper and use a knife to separate them if they are stuck together. Enjoy!

  1. Thank you so much Trisha, this is one thing I love to eat when I am in Hamburg. I have been buying them from the same stand next to the Alster for years and years. Now having read your recipe, I will make them at home in KENYA. I will enjooooooooy them and think of you.

  2. So simple and yet so delicious. They also look elegant in these photographs. What a beautiful post! Thank you for sharing. I have everything I need to make these at home.
